As the owner of a private “warehouse and fulfillment centre” we have potential new clients from time to time say to us – your competitors offer FREE services; trucking i.e. the movement of freight to and from the warehouse, or FREE handling i.e. unloading and/ or loading of goods to be stored. Our comments about so called “Free Services” is that these offers usually almost always result in hidden fees or higher costs of add on services.

With the increased, ever rising costs in operating a business in Canada, such as rent, property taxes, utilities, and labour - it is very difficult, if not impossible to continue to offer “free services” that obviously have real costs associated with them.
